Barbara Steinberg of BLS Eldercare Financial Solutions to Present Educational Seminar, Open to the Public
TEANECK, N.J., June 22, 2009 – As Veterans are reaching the eligible age of 65 to collect Veterans’ Pension Benefits, many need help understanding how to obtain these benefits in order to pay for out-of-pocket healthcare costs. To assist Veterans with the oftentimes challenging process, Barbara Steinberg of BLS Eldercare Financial Solutions will present a seminar entitled “Navigating Veterans’ Benefits” on Tuesday, July 21, at 6:30 p.m. This event, being hosted by Heritage Pointe of Teaneck, will be held at the full-service independent senior living community, 600 Frank W. Burr Blvd. in Teaneck, N.J. The program is free and open to the public.
Steinberg is an accomplished author and speaker on senior financial issues. She will provide important details regarding Veterans’ Pension Benefit options and offer consultations for participants.
Established in November 1951, the Veterans’ Pension Benefits provides compensation for monthly medical expenses including assisted living fees, home health aides, doctor co-payments, insurance premiums and other medically related services.
Eligibility requirements to qualify for the Veterans’ Pension are as follows: individual must have served 90 days on active duty, and at least one day must have been during a period of war; must be disabled or over the age of 65; and must not have a dishonorable discharge.
