User-Friendly Integration Eases Process of Reducing Electricity Usage
TEANECK, N.J., July 15, 2009 – The tasks of reducing energy consumption and lowering operating costs just became a lot easier to accomplish with the introduction of the ECS BACnet Interface Module. The module is a product of Encelium Technologies, maker of the Encelium Energy Control System, the industry-leading energy management and lighting control system.
Encelium’s innovations in energy management and lighting control have made it a leader in the design and installation of intelligent building systems for new and existing commercial buildings. ECS is designed to reduce lighting-related energy costs by 50 to 75 percent, and its use contributes significantly to a building achieving the coveted U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED).
The new ECS BACnet Interface Module enables the integration of ECS with any BACnet compatible building automation system. This permits ECS to share real time data with a Building Automation System, including lighting status, lighting levels, occupancy status and energy usage information.
Highlights of the ECS BACnet Interface Module include:
· Enabling the Building Automation System to control switching and dimming functions
· Controlling load shedding by providing information about the amount of lighting load that can be reduced and where it is located. This permits shedding to take place selectively or across the board.
“We constantly strive to make our system as user-friendly as possible,” said Tony Marano, President and CEO of Encelium. “The BACnet Interface Module achieves that goal both in ease of use and how smoothly it integrates with the ECS and BACnet-based Building Automation Systems.”
