Borst Teaches Organic Lawn Care From The Ground Up

FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J., Aug. 10, 2009 – Mark Borst, president and founder of Borst Landscape and Design, a full-service landscaping firm in Allendale, gave an interactive presentation at the Franklin Lakes Public Library on organic lawn care and maintenance. Borst shared a colorful slide show that highlighted the importance of nurturing healthy soil as the first step in the move towards growing and maintaining an organic lawn. Attendees learned about the proactive approach to lawn care the company takes through its Borst Organic® division, which uses a private-label line of environmentally-sensitive products to feed turf, control pests and insects, and add vital nutrients to the soil.

Borst discussed how organic landscaping encourages the growth of beneficial soil organisms and the natural interactions between plant life, organisms and soil; natural methods to fertilize lawns; and how organic nutrients can treat disease on trees and shrubs while also promoting plant vigor. Professionals from the Borst Landscape and Design team are available to speak for free to Bergen County garden clubs, public libraries and school groups; for more information please call (201) 785-9400 or visit www.borstlandscape.com.
