EDISON, N.J., July 30, 2009 – Dr. Leonard’s Healthcare Corp., a leading online catalog retailer, has leased 15,000 square feet at Towne Corporate Centre, 2147 Route 27 in Edison, announced Cushman & Wakefield, Inc. The office space will serve as an expansion of the firm’s headquarters operation, which is housed at a nearby warehouse/distribution property on Nixon Lane.

Cushman & Wakefield’s Robert Dinner and Jon Marks of the firm’s Edison office, and Bonni Heller of its East Rutherford, N.J., office serve as exclusive leasing agents for Towne Corporate Centre. 2147 Route 27, LLC owns the 250,000-square-foot property.

Joel Lubin and Kevin Carton of Jones Lang LaSalle served as tenant brokers in the multi-year transaction with Dr. Leonard’s. The company operates an online healthcare store offering a range of discount items including health products, support and mobility aides, apparel, home furnishings, housewares and personal care products.

“Until now, the Dr. Leonard’s office staff occupied space within its warehouse/ distribution facility,” Dinner explained. “The company’s rapid growth necessitated that the warehouse expand into the building’s office component. As such, the company opted to move its administrative team off site.”

Dinner added that the ability to be competitive was key in his team’s successfully securing the lease for Towne Corporate Centre. “Simply put, we were able to make the most attractive offer locally,” he said. “With the nature of today’s market, landlords who put forward aggressive terms and quality properties are best positioned to attract tenants.”

Towne Corporate Center sits just off I-287. The four-story property features a newly renovated lobby, food service, ample parking and loading docks. Units ranging from 6,000 square feet to a full, 50,000-square-foot floor currently are available.
