June 29: HUMC Foundation to Honor Richard Dressel at Golf Outing
PARAMUS, N.J., May 20, 2009 – Richard Dressel, business manager of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 164 based in Paramus, N.J., will be honored at the Twelfth Annual Invitational Golf Outing hosted by Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC) Foundation on Monday, June 29. Proceeds from the event, to be held at the Canoe Brook Country Club in Summit, N.J., will benefit the John Theurer Cancer Center at HUMC.
The Cancer Center is New Jersey’s largest and most comprehensive center offering diagnostic, treatment, management, research, screening and preventive care services to patients with a wide range of cancers. Dressel and Local 164 are being honored for their on-going support of programs designed to assist oncology patients of all ages, including The Gift Giving Program, which grants wishes of children who are ill and their siblings. In addition, the Local has donated proceeds from Project Grandma, an annual fund-raising event developed to assist those who have been diagnosed with or are recovering from breast cancer as well as their loved ones.
