Walters Homes Welcomes Spring at the Jersey Shore with Valuable Incentives
 
BARNEGAT, N.J., Feb. 24, 2009 – Walters Homes is inviting prospective homebuyers to kick off spring with a sales event on Saturday, March 21, from 11 a.m. till 4 p.m. at the Ocean Acres model home in Barnegat, located at 57 Nautilus Drive. The one-day event will highlight two distinct residential developments: Whispering Hills, a premier townhouse development under construction in Barnegat, and Ocean Acres at Barnegat, a luxury single-family community.
 
Homebuyers will have the opportunity to purchase a LEED-certified townhouse at Whispering Hills at pre-construction prices starting at $239,995. As an added bonus, an Area Attractions Package valued at $1,500 is offered to buyers attending the event and signing a contract prior to April 30. This exclusive package includes gift certificates from area retailers, restaurants, and entertainment venues. In addition, a drawing will be held for the winner of a new gas grill. Light refreshments will also be provided.
 
Whispering Hills, located off Rose Hill Road, between Barnegat Boulevard and Route 9, is an eco-friendly community encompassing 258 units. The project offers 107 three-bedroom, 2 ¬Ω-bath townhouses, ranging from 1,909 square feet to 2,191 square feet. Optional finished basements bring the living space to more than 2,500 square feet. Four, two-story floor-plans are now being offered, including one- and two-car garage models. Four townhouse models are under construction and are expected to be completed in June.
 
Numerous townhouses have already been sold at pre-construction prices, with only a few units remaining in the first four buildings. Pamela Schuster, marketing and sales manager for Walters Homes, added that, “We’re seeing a lot of first-time homebuyers, and part of that is our competitive pricing and outstanding amenities. We expect traffic to greatly increase once our models are open.”

Whispering Hills is an environmentally friendly community, being built to LEED standards, a green rating system started by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). LEED-certified homes are on average 30% to 50% more energy efficient than conventional non-green homes, according to the USGBC. “LEED certification also translates into savings on energy and water usage. Energy Star-certified appliances are installed in every new home we build,” said Walters.
 
The entire multi-family community is nestled in an 85-acre wooded enclave, encompassing a 28-acre tree preservation area, adding value to the community while contributing to the overall health of the ecosystem. The preservation of these mature trees will absorb carbon dioxide, prevent erosion, and add beauty to the community.
 
New home sales are also on the rise at Ocean Acres at Barnegat with the number of signed contracts this year exceeding last year for the same time period, according to Schuster. This luxury single-family residential community offers buyers a large portfolio of distinctively designed homes with various floor plans, starting at $269,995. Valuable incentives are being offered including a finished basement with two-zone HVAC at half price. In addition, if a homebuyer uses one of Walters’ preferred lenders, they can also receive up to $7,000 in seller concessions.
 
The portfolio of single-family designs offered at Ocean Acres at Barnegat features a total of eight different designs with an array of upscale amenities. The homes include floor plans of up to 3,100 square feet and prices ranging from $269,995 to $344,995. Four distinctively designed spec homes are available, one with immediate occupancy. Buyers can tour the colonial-style Mayfield spec home, which features Energy Star products and a variety of upgrades.
