25-Year Industry Veteran Brings Tenant, Ownership Experience to N.J. Team
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., April 3, 2009 – Robert Stark, a 25-year commercial real estate industry veteran, has joined Cushman & Wakefield’s Global Client Solutions Group in East Rutherford as senior portfolio manager, announced Gualberto “Gil” Medina, the firm’s New Jersey executive managing director. The real estate services company has been successfully providing facility management services as a core business for more than 30 years, operating and maintaining safe, productive and cost-effective workplace environments.
Stark has responsibility for several major accounts. His current assignments include heading management for Wachovia Bank N.A.’s North East regional portfolio, which includes some 30 office and data center locations totaling 3.2 million square feet, as well as properties for TIAA-CREF, USAA, and others.
Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Stark served as executive vice president for Illva Saronno Corp. His past executive-level positions also include vice president, asset management, for Urban America and director of real estate for Sony Corporation. During his career, he has managed and leased over 20 million square feet of office, retail, and industrial properties, and developed 7 million square feet of ground-up projects throughout North America, Mexico, and Canada.
“Bob’s deep experience on the owner and tenant side has provided him with a unique ability to understand client challenges and develop effective solutions,” Medina said. “He brings an entrepreneurial spirit, institutional discipline, and an excellent understanding of strategic and tactical business practices to our team.”
“I have worked with Cushman & Wakefield throughout my career, and I always have been impressed by what I’ve seen in its people and resources,” Stark said. “I look forward to contributing the diversity of my background to benefit the company.”
Stark maintains active memberships in the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), International Facility Management Association (IFMA) and the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Pace University.
