Summer Deals Drive Home Sales Upward At Ocean Acres, Whispering Hills
BARNEGAT, N.J., July 22, 2009 – Walters Homes is developing two distinct eco-friendly communities in southern Ocean County, featuring valuable incentives and green amenities such as Energy Star appliances. Ocean Acres at Barnegat offers buyers a large portfolio of competitively priced single-family homes with various floor plans, starting at $249,995. At Whispering Hills, spacious LEED-certified townhouses are currently under construction, starting at $229,995.

“New home sales are booming this summer at Ocean Acres,” states Pamela Schuster, marketing and sales manager for Walters Homes. “So far, contract sales activity exceeds last years’ pace.” To date, Walters Homes has 37 signed contracts at Ocean Acres at Barnegat, including several houses, which were built on spec.
Buyers can choose from four new colonial-style spec houses that are available for immediate occupancy at Ocean Acres. The three-bedroom Sherwood spec, priced at $259,802, is under construction and features a 1,700-square-foot floor plan with a full basement, two-car garage and predetermined upgrades. Two professionally decorated models are also open for tours at Ocean Acres.
As an added bonus, Walters Homes is offering eligible buyers $7,000 in seller concessions when using one of their preferred lenders: Van Dyk Mortgage Services and Ocean First Bank. Concessions are applied towards closing costs.
Eco-friendly Living at Whispering Hills
Located off Rose Hill Road, between Barnegat Boulevard and Route 9, Whispering Hills is an eco-friendly community, nestled in an 85-acre wooded enclave. A sales office and four new model units are slated to be completed in August. Walters Homes has scheduled a grand opening to be held in September, and 14 units have already sold.
The townhouse units range from 1,909 square feet to 2,191 square feet and include a full basement, which bring the living space to over 2,400 square feet. Four, two-story floor-plans are now being offered, including one- and two-car garage models. Eligible buyers can also receive $1,500 in seller concessions when using a preferred lender.
Whispering Hills is being built to Silver LEED standards, a green rating system started by the U.S. Green Building Council. LEED-certified homes are more energy efficient than conventional non-green homes, translating into savings for homeowners. In addition, Walters’ residential developments are Energy Star-certified, saving residents as much as 30 percent on gas, electric and water costs.
Whispering Hills townhouses also feature the finest materials and quality craftsmanship, including amenities such as Woodstar Series Cabinetry, Whirlpool appliances, and Kohler stainless steel sinks. The master suites have spacious closets, whirlpool tubs and marble countertops.
